John Virtue is a famous British artist which is most known for his monochrome landscape art. He worked in a University as an art professor many years after his first job as a postman. His work is really unique and well known for being so different. He really works with different styles of technique as well as colour concepts.

This form of art is not my favourite but it really does fascinate me as it is so unique and I haven’t seen this done before. It has a completely different effect to it than all the other artists I have research and the techniques within this work are really amazing. I do like the element of what’s behind the picture because from some points of view you can’t imminently see what this artwork is but when you look more into it you spot different elements of the landscape and the different things within it. The different types of methods he uses throughout this piece are so different and unique it is. I wouldn’t go to look into this type of work because it isn’t my style but it is a great approach to landscapes and the skill it has within this art is clever.
All in all, this isn’t my best style of work I have seen but I do like how different and unique it is, compared to other artists this work has a lot of depth and it is fascinating to look into it. I do like the approach and fine his different markings and tones throughout this piece of work really clever.
